Things to expect

Oozing or light bleeding is normal for the first 1 - 2 days after surgery.
Pain is normal and should be controllable with the pain medication provided by the doctor.
Many patients cannot breathe well while the internal splints are in place, this is normal.
Some patients may experience numbness of the front teeth, this is normal and usually returns to normal over months.

Okay to remove the nasal drip pad when the oozing has stopped. Replace as needed if oozing continues.
Gently use the nasal saline spray four times daily to help clean the nasal cavity.
Apply Bacitracin antibiotic ointment inside the nostrils twice daily.
It is okay to shower 48 hours after surgery.
Call Dr. York's clinic to make postoperative appointment for one week after surgery.
No strenuous physical activity for 2 weeks.
