Blepharoplasty Discharge Instructions
Things to expect
- Oozing or light bleeding is normal for the first 1 - 2 days after surgery.
- Pain is normal and should be controllable with the pain medication provided by the doctor.
- The swelling can involve the area all around the eye, as long as the pain isn't increasing, this is normal.
What to do
- Apply antibiotic ointment to the incision twice daily.
- After 48 hours from your surgery, gently clean your incisions with warm soapy water.
- Call Dr. York's clinic to make post operative appointment for 5-6 days after surgery.
- Call immediately if you experience eye pain, severe pain, or severe bleeding.
- No strenuous physical activity for 2 weeks.

- Uncontrolled pain
- Fever > 101.5 F
- Vision changes other than ointment getting in your eye
